twilight and rainbow dash by :iconcreatorofpony:
flutterbat by :icontemporal333:
render time => 47:42:02
why it took 48 hours to render: well before doing the final render i was to stupid to remember how much it takes to render glass materials and i was like:
-500 particles of glass.. lets make them 1000
-100,000 rain particles... lets make them 500,000 with a high poly mesh
*mistakes:
-too many objects with glass material
-too low f-stop: 0.5 which is focusing on the shield
-poor expressions on rainbow dash, twilight and flutterbat's face
-bad lighting
-poor details on buildings
-not so good rain effect
if i missed any mistake just tell me and i'll edit it in
quick question:
what's the best amount of samples to get a clear image with:
1- 1080p
2- 720p

Fricken Niiiiice! Everything is looking really nice here and I really love the motion blur, and effects on the rain and the glass particles.

but yeah resolution is different than samples, samples has to do with how many light rays cycles simulates per square. If you have many many squares with only 10 samples sometimes you can get similar effects to large squares with 500 samples. Many of my renders use samples upwards of 1000 but you can usually get away with 500 samples. For glass to reduce noise you can disable caustics and a variety of other settings.

You can also try out blender's new portal feature.
